Really, I got into pinball when I was visiting a female friend in Portland. When she got off her shift, we went to grab a beer at a nearby bar. Turns out some sorta tournament was going on. I decided to enter, because what the hell, pinball is fun! It was the Rose City Showdown (far left Polaroid) where I placed 54th out of 67 people. I had a blast, and afterwards learned that I was internationally ranked, because, well, anyone who enters a tournament will be ranked :)

In the Polaroid that’s Keith Elwin, the #1 player in the world who was in the tournament (who I didn't know anything about at the time as a clueless newbie). It's great that you can play against the worlds best when you compete in pinball. If you play basketball you probably aren't playing with Lebron James, or golfing with Tiger Woods, but in pinball you can be!
